Out The Home

Hey. Hope all is well in your world. That you have been able to make something out of nothing in this ever changing world. Here we are in April in the midst of spring. The time when the weather is warming up, Mother Nature is performing her best for us, and the time change has some in a ball of confusion during the period of adjustment. It is my favorite time of the year, as all the flowers bloom and the planting gets to be really rewarding. Don’t forget the festivals and other outdoor activities. Renewal, growth, and spring cleaning.

One of the biggest benefits of spring is the increase in sunlight, which naturally boosts mood and energy levels by enhancing vitamin D production. The ability to just stand outside and gather it is lovely. The warmer weather encourages more outdoor activities, allowing us to engage in physical exercise, which we know to reduces stress and improves mental health. I would suggest taking a moment to plan a time to be outside for a walk or event. Social interaction often increases as people are more inclined to gather outdoors, strengthening connections and enhancing emotional well-being. I’m going to share a list thats family friendly of some activities that can be enjoyed during this time of year and beyond. I would suggest checking out the local library for other resources and a dollar store or goodwill to accommodate the lowest financial input to the activities. I like saving a coin.

Blooming flowers, longer days, and vibrant colors can inspire creativity and motivation. The inspiration is naturally there in a sense. Spring is a season of transformation, making it a perfect time to set personal goals and embrace growth. Whether it’s pursuing a creative hobby, establishing a self-care routine, or spending mindful moments in nature, you have to find what works best for you. I personally do a little bit of all of that. A slight seasonal reset that touches self and my environment.

If you’ve had gardening on your mind, the time to get started is now. It’s the optimal time to get to work on your vegetable, fruit, herb, or flower planting initiatives. Following instructions when it comes to facts like laying down seeds that are viable in your specific growing zone, which can also be referred to as the hardiness zone, is important. Along with will you have plants indoors or outdoors. I have a herb garden, succulents, and a few ferns indoors; however, i have a little lifted vegetable garden outside. I tend to my greenery often and as best as possible using 2 very lovely links that was passed along https://mggno.com/resources/#planting-guides  & https://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov . I really hope they help you as well.

Taking the time to get out for multiple purposes is something to be prioritized. I tend to spend a lot of time indoors due to medical conditions, but when possible I am moving. Slow boogie is better than no boogie for me, always. I can be doing so well and then a stressor will send me into a seizure or flare up my auto immune issues. I’m still learning my limitations and finding a way to navigate healthily between the ever changing lines. I am happy to say that after 3 months of scary kidney reports I’m out of the red. I am off steroids and despite weekly treatments, I feel so much better as a whole than I was at the beginning of the year. So many things have changed in my world and I’m making a point to be out in the world amongst people that appreciate me.

Celebrating making it from day to day is important doesn’t matter what season. That statement can be looked at in a few different ways but taking it at face value is where I’m going at this moment. The first week of spring a meme party was thrown by me for a few of my family members and a couple of friends. We tend to rotate events and it was my turn. The year came in kind of heavy for more than a few of us in that particular group chat so the mixers are needed for us. I decided to celebrate us a bit more than just games, food, and drinks. The twist was not only to dress as a meme for the game night, but we would be painting, planning and giving grace. It was a blast.

If you find yourself looking for a few festivals to drop in to from Lafayette, La. to Houston, TX. then I am going to be surely sharing the names of the main stream ones. Some are even absolutely free. Be sure to check out what’s out there.

I’m taking time away from the screen and dedicating myself to being outside of the home. It’s been quite different outside of the loop and timeline over these 6 weeks, but all is well. The changes are all so needed. I’m very grateful for the individuals that have extended themselves over the past few months. I’m praying for a better journey ahead and as always forever wishing you the best. Until next time.
