Hey 👋🏾 Hope all is well in your world. Welcome here and welcome March. It’s slowly getting warmer and I couldn’t be happier. The feels of spring and the new life that arrives is really a favorite. I spent majority of last month highlighting various artists, creators, and entrepreneurs; take a moment to reflect and peek at a few of the previous posts. This month I’ll be focused on a few significant women in history and now, along with personal and entrepreneurial growth. Today in particular, I want to focus on self. I mean that both figuratively and literally.
Now I do know that this particular month is centered around the well being and accomplishments of women, but here we are concerned with everyone’s comfort and care. So let’s talk about it for a moment, and start with what it is exactly before moving along to who its for. Self care has been defined as the process of establishing behaviors to ensure holistic well-being of oneself, to promote health, and actively manage illness when it occurs. It is for everyone and should be an important point of focus. Its not a new term, but since the onset of the pandemic that particular phrase of making a point to focus on yourself has been normalized. I want to take a moment and give a relatively short list of things that can be added to your daily breakdown. Take them all, or take a few that fits for you.
Unisex self care tips
Here are some simple unisex self care tips that you can practice daily to maintain your mental and physical wellbeing:
Make sure to get enough sleep. A good night’s rest is essential for keeping your body and mind healthy.
Take time for yourself. Set aside a few minutes each day to do something you enjoy and make sure to take breaks throughout the day to relax. Before giving your time and energy to someone else take a moment to think if you are available to handle what is being transferred.
Exercise regularly. Exercise can help reduce stress, improve your mood, and boost your energy levels.
Eat nutritious foods. Eating a balanced diet can help keep your body healthy, boost your energy, and improve your mood.
Connect with friends and family. Make time to talk to people you care about and spend quality time with them.
Practice mindfulness. Mindfulness can help you stay in the moment and reduce stress.
Set realistic goals. Setting realistic goals can help keep you motivated and focused on achieving them.
Do something creative. Express yourself through creative activities like writing, drawing, or playing music.
Take time to appreciate the small things. Taking time to appreciate the beauty of the world around you can help improve your mood and reduce stress.
Practice self-compassion. Be kind to yourself and remember that everyone makes mistakes.
When we feel better, we generally perform better and interact better with those around us. I am no professional when it comes to these things, but I am someone that is actively attempting to grow for the best by trying positive things daily. I find the hardest thing to do from the previously mentioned list to be practicing self compassion. I tell myself almost everyday to be kind to myself and give grace. I hope that you allow a space of love for you. It’s so deserved.

-If you are someone that likes to take on a few challenges, I am embarking on a few challenges to jumpstart my weight loss today. I do still get my cardio in before the exercise portion. I have had a hard time staying consistent for the past 6 weeks ( amongst life changes) and without training and structure I usually get complacent in my bad habits. These type of restrictions play on my competitive nature and generally give me some decent results that make me want to keep some of the limitations long term. 21 days from today lands you at April 1st. It's often stated that is the amount of time it takes to form or break a habit, try to snag a few good ones with me.-
