A Time for Fashion

Hey 👋🏾 Hope all is well in your world. Things are changing and time is passing. I hope you are focusing on your village and well being. I felt like someone needed to be reminded of that today. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Thanks for lending me your eyes for a few moments to catch up a bit.

For the past 5 years, the month of July has been somewhat monopolized by an amazing fashion scene in Lafayette, Louisiana. It’s courtesy of an amazing group of creatives that put together an event that is known as Acadiana Fashion Week. This year it was July 18th- July 24th.

It pulls together so many likeminded individuals and onlookers to simply appreciate the art of fashion and the known and not so known individuals in the area that provide the services needed. I’ve had the pleasure of being a presenting designer since the very first showcase. It has gotten better every year since, even an impromptu one that occurred after the covid world shutdown was still amazing. Below I’ll be including some flashbacks. It’s a wonderful platform and an expanding community thats a pleasure to be a part of. If you missed it this year, please plan to attend the next. It’s a beautiful experience.

This year will be a memorable one for me because I had the pleasure of watching my nephew showcase his line for the first time. 🥹 Such a proud auntie moment. I wasn’t able to get as great a view as I would have liked, due to the compression of people watching (isn’t a bad thing). In the midst of all the grande changes in my life over these past few months I’m so proud of me, Keenen (B.A.E.), and the team for pulling through with these looks in less than a month. We sent 14 looks down the runway. All handmade and handcrafted. Available for purchase online August 1st. We will also be featuring thee amazing Malika F & her natural body care products, Exquisite Essentials on the site at the same time💚.

I always express my genuine feelings & during this time it’s purely gratitude and humility… Annually this event kicks off what is my busiest season of creative work and it did not disappoint this year.
