Fat Fights

Hey guys ! Hope all is well in your world. I am tapping in today to talk about a forever battle for me that you may associate with. The fat fight. When I hit puberty the fight began and I swung back with various physical activities like basketball, volleyball, and eventually marching band. I stopped all of that when my foot hit a college campus tho ( shoutout S.U.) . I began to gather what is known as the freshman 15 and had no real physical outlet to get the weight off.
I got pretty plush then decided I wanted to go into the army, and with that decision came my first complete win with weight. I went from 220 pounds to 185 pounds and maintained it pretty well throughout my short year in the military (ended due to injury) and an additional year. Old habits die hard, and after a life shift I began to eat terrible ( convenient foods) and working out became nonexistent. Fast forward through the infinite loop of me gaining and loosing weight various ways through my 20s and we land at the pandemic of 2020; the last year of my twenties too.
March of 2020 will be a month that most will never forget. Having the world be on pause for a few weeks was great at first, then became the perfect circumstance for sadness and weight gain. I climbed well into 237 pounds, the most I’ve ever weighed. I was not alone in that struggle as millions of Americans piled on the pounds as well.
In the beginning of April I got serious and began to workout at least 5 times per week with a friend that also held me accountable
with food. In July we started to work with a trainer virtually and constantly focused on healthier food options and High Impact Training. With a few slip ups here and there I hit my goal of losing 30 pounds by September, and maintained it until my 30th birthday in November. The holidays shook me up and currently I’m getting back into the groove of working out at lease 4 times a week and maintaining a healthy and quality caloric intake. I gained about 13 pounds, but I can get it off. I’ll be sharing details into my weight loss journey like meals and workouts in future posts. I just wanted to give a little background into my struggles, which may resonate with you.
I’ve spent most of my adult life fighting the fat. As we move more into this new year that battle continues, and I welcome it. Let’s share with each other and grow by showing and listening. Thank you for your time. I wish you well in your health journey. Feel free to share any tips and give feedback on this subject. information is infinite and so helpful❤️
