👋🏾Hey. Hope all is well in your world and you enjoyed your day of love. I honestly desire for the overall essence of this month in celebration of melanin and romance carry through the year. I will say that being in celebration of yourself and taking a little time with yourself is important, more so than being uplifted by others. The way we see and care for ourselves directly reflects how others engage with us. It’s why a little self care is mandatory. Today I have the pleasure of presenting a wonderful individual who can assist a little with self care in a major way. She goes by Ingrid C. and specializes in massage therapy. We tend to lean heavy in the taught idea that a massage is a luxury specifically established for minimizing stress and increasing relaxation. It has a few more benefits that I feel should be mentioned and are highlighted ⬇️ below:
Reducing pain and muscle soreness and tension.
Improving circulation, energy and alertness.
Lowering heart rate and blood pressure.
Improving immune function.
& much more
We should look at massage therapy as something that feels good and is good for you. Ingrid has been in the field for years and brings classic and trendy services together for one to utilize and feel great about. Her recommendations are filled with knowledge. I’m grateful she took the time to answer a few questions about her career and what we can do to support. Read below 👇:
Q1: How long have you shared your art with the world and how did you start?
Hi guys, I'm Ingrid Calzado, Mother of Three, Christian, Massage Therapist, Post Esthetic Surgery Care specialist. I am the Owner of Yarimar Body Care. I have been in the art of massage therapy for about 13 years.
Since I was little, it was always my desire to be in the area of health or sanitation; When I graduated from high school, I went to UCSD and studied physical therapy technician, then I took a diploma in therapeutic massage.
It has been a beautiful and long path starting in my country, the Dominican Republic (Afro-Caribbean girl), New York, where it was another little school where I learned more techniques and modalities; now Houston that has become my home and God has opened doors of blessings. When they ask me if I like what I do, my answer is always "Massage is my thing, and it's what I love to do".

Q2: What or who is your biggest inspiration?
The truth is that I don't have great inspirations, I have thousands of small inspirations that make up the greatness of my inspiration; I could give you some examples: the formation of my ancestors that lead me to who I am today, the sum of many wonderful people you meet along the way, a sunset, a hug, a smile, I value those little things.
Q3: What do you want to leave behind?
I want to be remembered as a person of courage, who despite limitations and struggles followed her dream; a person of great love, that people not only feel that I touch their body in therapy, but also their souls, knowing that someone cares.
Q4: What is it that the general public can do to support you?
You can contact me on Instagram and Facebook: @Yarimarbodycare

Q5: What, if any, advice would you give to someone that is looking to grow within your field?
A piece of advice is that you develop the dream or desire that is in you,
Compete with yourself and enjoy the day.
