Hey 👋🏾. Hope all is well in your world. February is running out the door at this point. The love, melanin, and Fat Tuesday feels are still very alive and well. I sincerely hope this month is handing out wins and if the storm is heavy right now, may you make it through. Persistence is a term passed around heavily amongst the culture and its that way for a reason. It's a necessity. Speaking of the culture, we have to continue to uplift those that are apart of and contributing to just that. I have the pleasure of shedding a little light on a super creative and consistent online content creator who goes by JoAnna. She has some dope content and tends to be very informative. That's what I personally appreciate; let me know the steps and why. She does that flawlessly, while looking so cute doing so. I'm grateful she took the time to answer a few questions about her art and the why behind it all. Check out the interview below.

1. How long have you shared your art with the world and how did you start?

Since 2019. Using only my outdated phone and what I had around me already.

2. What or who is your biggest inspiration?

Savannah Sylver. Kirah Ominique. Various creators on Instagram and TikTok.

3. What do you want to leave behind?

The thought of I'm not worth getting paid for what I do. Focusing on numbers vs actual support and engagement.

5. What, if any, advice would you give to someone that is looking to grow within your field?

No need to buy fancy equipment. Don't worry about friends and family support. Strangers will be your biggest supporters. Build yourself a media kit it's your resume. Make content with things you already have. Don't go broke trying to keep up with others in your niche.
