Hey 👋🏾 Hope all is well in your world. This month is flying by and I hope you are enjoying everything it has to offer and the further exposer of some astounding individuals. Today I get to share a super special person, to me, with you. 🥰 She goes by the pen name of Trenae’. A chart topping author in Urban Fiction literature, low key online personality, and amazing mentor to more people than you would ever know. Within all of that, one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure of getting guidance, support, and love from for over 20 years. That’s my best friend! I can understand why you would believe I am biased; which I would never deny, but numbers do not lie and Amazon charts see her name whenever she drops. Literally every time. Every time. It is surreal to me to be able to execute this written interview of my highly acclaimed author best friend on my frequently viewed blog. Things we sat and talked about years ago. I’m grateful she took the time to answer a few questions about her art and what we can do to support her.

How long have you shared your art with the world and how did you start?

My very first book, The Sins of my Beretta was published May 1, 2016. I started as an avid reader, to be honest. I would read no less than four books a week. After reading so many books, I wanted to try my hand at writing them. For a while, I simply wrote and saved them in my laptop, not allowing anyone to even know I was writing. It wasn’t until I got really sick and had to take months off from work that I actually completed my first book. My fiancé was the first person I allowed to read my book and he was in love. He gave me the push to submit to a publisher who was also in love with my books.

What or who is your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration has to be my family. I have an amazing fiancé and through him, I have gained two beautiful sons. I want to give them the world!

What do you want to leave behind?

I want to leave behind a huge piece of my insane mind! The storylines I construct are crazy and I love it! I want to leave a piece of that for people to always refer back to. I know that when I read, I get lost in the story. Nothing that’s going on around me matters. I’m that invested that I have no worries. I want to leave behind that same escape for anyone who picks up a book that I’ve written.

What is it that the general public can do to support you?

If you’re looking to support me, my books are available on Amazon. Download their free kindle app and search my pseudonym: Trenae’ and my entire collection will be right at your fingertips. I also have a Facebook reading group that keeps me connected with my readers from all over the world. The name of that group is Trenae Presents: Books By The Pound

What, if any, advice would you give to someone that is looking to grow within your field?

Stay consistent and always write for you. Readers will attempt to pull you in one million different directions. They get so enthralled into your story that they will have a vision for your story in their mind that isn’t the same as yours. When that happens, you have to remember that although you appreciate the readers, this is still your story. Write the story that you want to read and the end result will always be a catalog that you’re proud of.
