Hey 👋🏾 Hope all is well in your world. As we approach the end of the shortest, but best content presented month, I want to send positive energy your way. It’s a lot going on in the world and it’s so important to take some time to send and receive good things.
The universal language of music crosses all boundaries and biases. It speaks to mostly anyone and is an art form of unification at times. The ability to play an instrument and be an intricate part of a piece of literal art is an amazing skill. I have the immense pleasure of presenting any eyes that lay home on this passage with a super talented musician; Branson Brade. He is a saxophone soloist that deserves all the flowers now. In an occasion in which specialty and class is something you may want, reach out for this amazing performer to be the entertainment part of your event. I am going to go ahead and slide in that I have had the honor of knowing and even performing with him for years; I mean in a classroom setting over 10 years ago. Lol. B was great then, but he is phenomenal now. Pile that on top of being a genuine being and a fruitful artist it’s an honor indeed to know him. I’m grateful he took the time to answer a few questions about his musical art & what we can do to support him. Check it out below :👇🏾
Q1: How long have you shared your art with the world and how did you start?
I’ve been performing live with my saxophone for almost 8 years now but like many musicians, I began playing in front of others at a much younger age in church. At 8, I began learning the piano, then shortly after starting the saxophone. Throughout grade school and college, I added a few more instruments including the bassoon and tuba.
Q2: What or who is your biggest inspiration?
I think my greatest inspiration in life has been my relationship with God and how it shapes my view of the gifts that we’re given. Believing that my gifts and talents are to be used for more than just my personal gain has shown me the true value of helping others. Most of the doors that have been opened for me over the years have been a result of my genuine willingness to pour into others.
Q3: What do you want to leave behind?
My personal goal has been to transfer as much knowledge of the arts to the younger generation of creatives. Art has become so much more than just the medium we choose to utilize and I want the youth to take full advantage of the tools available to them. Sometimes that’s possible through education in our craft; Others require the utilization of the resources at our disposal. Either way, exposure to new things can lead to unexpected-lifelong connections for everyone we come in contact with.
Q4: What is it that the general public can do to support you?
My current grassroots efforts include music education at the community level in Missouri City, Tx. While these efforts are centralized to youth music education, I also perform as a live saxophone soloist, playing cover tracks of genres including R&B, Neo Soul & Gospel. You can find some of my recent work on Instagram at @BCB_Mu5ic.
Q5: What, if any, advice would you give to someone that is looking to grow within your field?
Never stop perfecting your skill. For some, their true-love may never be their full-time career but no one can ever take that talent from you. When you cultivate your skill, there comes a point where not even you can deny sharing your greatness with others.
I would like to thank the eyes reading this blog post, and Branson for giving us a little information about self. If you haven’t yet, check out the social media handles above and listen to his great performances. May the love that’s supposedly in the air surround you. Happy BHM . Happy Black Future Month.. ❤️
