Talk to a Real One

Hey guys❤️ Hope all is well in your world. I have a little gem I utilize that of course, I want to share with you. Let me give you a scenario. You have a full day ahead and its known from the second you open your eyes. It may be work looming, the kids needing you before you can thank the lord for the day, executing something outside of your norm that has you nervous, a combo of the previously mentioned, or simply looking at 35 hours of work to be packed inside 24. You are swamped and overwhelmed. It’s normal, but it’s not okay. Take a note to that. || Normality does not equate righteousness. || 👈🏾 Read that again and again.

Grab a hold of your morning (Check out my previous post, Are You Available?) and sketch your day. Granted, I know sometimes we do not even have the time to sit and complete a thought (body just on auto-pilot 🥺I feel you). Take a mental note of what you have to do in your most sacred time, on that porcelain throne 🚽. Your phone is more than likely in your hand anyway. Toilet chronicles. Began a conversational text thread to yourself. You know just text yourself things that you need to remember.

We have all heard the statement that you are crazy once you start talking and answering. Well here we are in these crazy times. Talk to the person you know has your best interests at heart, you. I’m being extensive with the joke but you get it. We always have our phones on us or in our faces. When you notice something is out in the fridge note it, when someone tells you something you will need later (don’t go that’s so important I know I won’t forget, you will) note it, the kids throw some small project or event at you note it ASAP. You get the gist. Sometimes I have a whole list of stuff in a text draft to myself of things I KNOW I would have forgotten as the day(s) progress. Try it for a few. If the text message doesn’t work for you try notes, reminders, alarms. Talk text it if you have to. Just make a conscious attempt to notate things in the moment that you realize is important or requires more action.

We don’t realize how harsh we are on ourselves when it comes to remembering things and executing small things throughout the day. You will find yourself accomplishing little things that otherwise would have gotten thrown out or added to your “I’ll get to that eventually list”. Go ahead a message the realest person you know from time to time 💪🏾🥰 Little things will make a big difference.
