Hey guys, I hope all is well in your world. Despite the title of this post, I’m not telling you to leave or referring to anything in the restroom. I am simply reminding you that you have to stay in motion for progression in almost everything. I spent the second month of this year documenting and trying. Attempting to follow along with various self help and healthy trips definitely improved my physical and gave me a minor goal to strive for.
Now let’s face it, time will continue to move forward whether you advance or not. That’s a harsh reality. The best thing we can do is not let fear or any other debilitating emotion keep us stagnant. Setting goals and sharing them is a form of vulnerability. Well if honesty is in the mix, and I plan to be truthful with you guys.
I previously posted about being pleasant and present in regards to day to day activities.
I made the effort daily to follow a cleaner eating challenge and move in some form. In the previous post were outlined workouts and daily objectives. I won’t say that I followed it exactly because I did not. A few of the workouts were harsh on the knees, and some days the complexity of my schedule just didn’t allow me to complete it. Nonetheless, I was still able to get more than 10 workout days in the 20 day documentation. Over half is a win to me I lost 6 pounds and my skin cleared up a bit. On day 8 of the eating challenge, the objective was to eliminate sugar and it took me 6 actual days to accomplish it. Me and sugar have a lifelong love affair and to separate us, is to destroy a beautiful union. 😂 Nah, but I’m a bit more attentive of how much sugar I intake now. I still do, just less. On the upside, I almost forgot that a self goal was set. Consume at least a half gallon of water. I was pretty good with that one and continue to intake more than I previously had. The funny thing is I just had to find the right water bottle to be somewhat consistent. Trying to drink 4-6 bottles a day was annoying and somewhat wasteful as I spend a large amount of time home when I’m not teaching. Having all of those bottles just fill a receptacle was a bit off putting. Even in the classroom, 2-3 bottles crammed into my snack filled lunch bag was annoying and inconvenient. I purchased a $3 half gallon bottle that gets a even mix of half ice and the other water. I kept that jug with me and I’m now in search of a cuter one with the same straw setup. I buy bottled water for guests and gallon jugs for myself. A solution to a problem I just continuously overlooked.
Below is a comparative pic of my face and body in 20 days time, from February 2, 2022 to February 22, 2022.
I tried to keep the pics in order so you could see the slight difference in my body. Sorry if its a bit jumbled.
My face is a little more moisturized, brighter, and less textured. Despite the appearance, same sides are near each other in the order of the pics.
People did their own thing to hold a memorable experience this year in the second month. The visuals of the written dates 2/2/22 or 2/22/22 were super stimulating simply because people like repetitive things. Great dates to put a monumental stamp on proposals, marriages, business ventures, and personal things.
On 2/2/22, my friends and I decided to take a journey into nature to set some intentions and recite some positive affirmations. We started with a visit to Kincaid Reservoir in Boyce, La. We threw rocks, ran along the bank, spoke positively into each other, and finally sat in silence for a few minutes to ground.
What is grounding ( or earthing)?
Earthing (also known as grounding) refers to the discovery that bodily contact with the Earth's natural electric charge stabilizes the physiology at the deepest levels, reduces inflammation, pain, and stress, improves blood flow, energy, and sleep, and generates greater well-being.
After our morning by the lake, we moved on to Kisatchie National Forest which is located right outside of Alexandria in Louisiana. The weather was amazing and I was in great company. We hiked the farthest we ever had as a group on this day. The longest stop we made while inside was right around 2:15 pm to ground and prepare for 2:22pm so we could set our intentions and goals in stone by writing and reading them internally in that minute. We had a great adventure and set the tone for the month and beyond on that day..
February 22nd was a day of reflection for me to be grateful for all of the favor I had received over the past 20 days and beyond. I just wanted to see how well I could do any new regiments in this time of change and beautiful chaos in my life. I’d like to think I did okay with the gnawing notion that I could do better, I choose to focus myself on being appreciative of the now and optimistic about what’s next.
